It is created entirely by over 140 women of all experience levels, from young girls who love to create comics all the way up to top industry professionals. All of the short stories will center around our theme for this volume; Heroic. There will also be features, such as Professional How-Tos, a Kids/Teens section showcasing their works and giving tips, as well as a section dedicated to some Iconic female comic creators of the past, such as Nell Brinkley, and much more. Profits of this book will go towards the Charities of GlobalGiving.org.

Valiant Entertainment is relaunching Harbinger as an ongoing monthly series in June 2012. Writer Joshua Dysart and artist Khari Evans will be the creative team behind the relaunch of one of Valiant’s most popular titles, which Valiant is calling an “unflinching modern update.”

This is a series that, if handled properly, will be a huge hit for Valiant Entertainment. I’m hoping it holds up well compared to the original series by Jim Shooter and David Lapham.

The Comic Book Greats #3: Sergio Aragones Video

The Comic Book Greats, hosted by Stan Lee, was a documentary series produced by Stabur Home Video from 1991 to 1992. In each episode, Stan Lee interviewed a different comic book artist.

As far as I know, the series was only released in VHS format and has been unavailable for some time. The user iDraw has several episodes of The Comic Book Greats split into parts and posted on his YouTube page.

The Masters of Comic Book Art documentary, which was originally available on VHS in 1987, is now available in it’s entirety on YouTube. The hour long program is narrated by Harlan Ellison. Ellison also provides commentary in between the artist segments. This is a wonderful piece of comic book history as we get to hear the legendary artists talk about their creations.

The Masters of Comic Book Art features interviews with Will Eisner, Harvey Kurtzman, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Neal Adams, Berni Wrightson, (Jean Giraud) Moebius, Frank Miller, David Sim, and Art Spiegelman.
