There’s a new comic book publisher in town and the people behind it are looking to stir things up in the industry.
They are well known in the comics world as the force behind the resurrection of the Valiant Entertainment publishing division almost a decade ago: Dinesh Shamdasani, Warren Simons, Hunter Gorinson, Joshua Johns, and Atom! Freeman. They have a few ideas in mind this time around, and they are certainly unique.
In addition to all that, Bad Idea’s new releases won’t be available everywhere. To get things going, BAD IDEA will be self-distributing its titles to a carefully selected roster of just 20 participating comic book retailers with more admitted on a rolling basis for a total of roughly 50 within the first year. This includes strict enforcement in each store of only one comic per customer! This will make getting Bad Idea comics a little tough for many people.
Bad Idea does have a long roster of comics heavyweights in their line-up including Matt Kindt, Doug Braithwaite, Mae Catt, Joshua Dysart, Tomas Giorello, Lewis LaRosa, Adam Pollina, Robert Venditti, Marguerite Bennett, Eric Heisserer, Jody Houser, Jeff Lemire, Peter Milligan, Zeb Wells, and more.

DC Entertainment is rebranding and doing a line-wide relaunch of their critically-acclaimed Vertigo imprint on its 25th anniversary. Seven new titles have been announced for late 2018 / early 2019, with the first – Border Town – being released in October.
DC Comics is releasing more Looney Tunes / DC Universe crossovers this summer. All new issues will be released on August 29th, 2018 and will feature 48 pages of story that includes a bonus backup in each comic for $4.99.
The Sandman Universe, a new Vertigo line of comic books curated by Neil Gaiman, will begin August 8, 2018 with THE SANDMAN UNIVERSE #1 written by Gaiman, Spurrier, Hopkinson, Watters and Howard, featuring art by Bilquis Evely.
