Dirty Laundry Short Film w/ The Punisher?
Thomas Jane played the title character in the mostly forgettable 2004 film The Punisher. Although the film was bad, I found his portrayal of the vigilante, whose family was killed by the mob, to be significantly better than those Punishers who came before (Dolph Lundgren – 1989) or after (Ray Stevenson – 2008) him.
Jane seems to have enjoyed the experience of playing The Punisher. At Comic-Con International in San Diego this past weekend, Jane debuted a 10 minute short film simply entitled “Dirty Laundry.” The short was directed by Phil Joanou (Gridiron Gang) and featured an appearance by Ron Perlman. The lead character was never named, but it was clearly Frank Castle – The Punisher.
"I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it,” says Jane. “It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish — we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it."
If you’re a fan of The Punisher, this film is a lot of fun to watch. I must warn you that there is a LOT of violence and blood in this short… but what else would you expect from The Punisher?
Enjoy!
