The Lost Boys, the ’80s cult classic vampire film, gets a sequel in the form of a miniseries this October from Vertigo Comics & DC Comics. The Lost Boys comic by writer Tim Seeley & artists Scott Godlewski & Patricia Mulvihill, features covers by Tony Harris. The first issue arrives in stores on October 12th, 2016.
DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint has announced six new titles to be released at the end of the year, the first of which will arrive on store shelves in October 2013.

What better way is there to kick off the week than with some major, exciting news?
This morning, DC Entertainment’s Vertigo Comics imprint not only confirmed that the New York Times bestselling series AMERICAN VAMPIRE will be returning this December, but also announced the following all-new, bold, and exciting series:
HINTERKIND – Decades after “The Blight” all but wiped out the human race, Mother Nature is taking back what’s hers and she’s not alone … all the creatures of myth and legend have returned and they’re not happy. After her grandfather disappears, Prosper Monday must leave the security and seclusion of her Central Park village to venture into the wilds to find him, unaware of how much the world has changed. Just in time for Halloween, Vertigo has compiled a slew of creepy stories that are primed to get you in the spirit! GHOSTS is an anthology of short stories showcasing both major talents and newcomers in the industry. Arriving in stores on October 31, this collection features a space heist on a ghost ship, a spirit who wants to play synthesizer in a techno band and other dark and twisted tales best read under the sheets with a flashlight.
Here’s just a quick bit of news coming out of Comic-Con International in San Diego today.
This news is by no means comprehensive, but these are some of the bigger news items of the day.
Neil Gaiman announced that he is writing a prequel to Sandman #1 to be released on the 25th Anniversary of that issue’s publication. The art will be handled by the very talented JH Williams III, whose work on Promethea and Batwoman, Gaiman greatly admires.
Although the official Y: The Last Man film adaptation has pretty much stalled, filmmaker Christian Cardona has decided to make his own adaptation of the popular Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra Vertigo series.
Cardona has written, directed, and produced his own fan film called Y: The Last Man Rising – based on early issues of the hit series.

It’s the conclusion to “The Nocturnes” story arc! What has been festering in the town of Midway, Alabama and will Calvin Poole, a haunted man with secrets of his own, uncover it before it’s too late? AMERICAN VAMPIRE #27 is written by Scott Snyder and features art by Riccardo Burchielli.
Late in 2011 DC Comics acquired the worldwide rights to Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy series of novels. All three novels, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets’ Nest, will be published as graphic novels under DC’s Vertigo imprint from 2012 through 2014.
The first of the three graphic novel adaptation releases, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, will arrive in bookstores November 2012 and features a cover by artist Lee Bermejo (Batman: Noel). No word yet as to the page count, format size, or cover price of the book.

DC’s Vertigo imprint will be publishing all three stories in graphic novel format starting in 2012 and ending with the third part in 2014.
DC Comics is re-incorporating some of their Vertigo characters back into the DC Universe with Justice League Dark. John Constantine, Deadman, Madame Xanadu, Shade the Changing Man, and Zatanna are the supernatural characters that comprise the new team in Justice League Dark #1.
Written by Peter Milligan and illustrated by Mikel Janin, Justice League Dark #1 features a cover by Ryan Sook and will be available for digital download or purchase at comic book stores on Wednesday September 28th, 2011.
