DC Comics Cancels Hellblazer in March 2013

DC has cancelled Hellblazer with its 300th issue in February 2013. Hellblazer, which is currently the longest running title that hasn’t had its numbering changed, will be replaced by a new title – Constantine.

Again, it seems that DC, like Marvel, is employing a tactic that, in effect, just lowers the number on a title to make it more appealing to new readers. Usually, this has a short term effect on increasing sales; in the long run though, sales tend to slip back to the usual number or trend lower. This is especially true with Marvel Comics’ constant relaunching of titles.

Freelancers #1 Sold Out Before It Goes On Sale – 2nd Printing Announced

Freelancers #1Yesterday we brought you a preview of Freelancers #1 by Ian Brill & Joshua Covey from BOOM! Studios. Today it was announced that Freelancers #1 has sold out at the distributor level and has already gone back for a second printing before tomorrow’s release date – November 7th, 2012.

First printings should be available at your local comic shop, but availability may be limited considering that the retailers can’t get any more copies of the first print. At only $1 for Freelancers #1, there’s no reason not to check it out – 1st or 2nd printing!
